Sanitation vehicles belong to a niche market of special purpose vehicles in the commercial vehicle industry, including various types of garbage trucks, sprinklers, sweepers, and suction-type sewer scavengers.

According to the terminal licensing information, the sales volume of sanitation vehicles in June 2022 was 8,629 units, a month-on-month increase of 7.6% while a year-on-year decrease of 16.9%. From January to June 2022, the cumulative sales of sanitation vehicles was 44,584 units, a year-on-year decrease of 18.6%.

In June and the first six months of 2022, the sales of garbage trucks was the most among sanitation vehicles, with sales volume of 3,133 units and 16,413 units respectively, accounting for 36.3% and 36.2% of the sanitation vehicle market; followed by sprinklers, suction-type sewer scavengers and cleaning sweepers.

Diesel sanitation vehicles still dominated in the first half of this year; a total of 2,240 units new energy sanitation vehicles were sold, accounting for over 5% of the market. Among them, a total of 472 new energy dump trucks were sold.
