Sany's Phase I 5GW Monocrystalline Silicon Project Commences Production
October 12,2023
October 12, 2023, Shuozhou, China, On September 28th, the Phase I 5GW Monocrystalline Silicon Project of Sany in Shuozhou was officially put into production at the Shuozhou Low-Carbon Silicon Core Industry Park. This marks the first large-scale photovoltaic monocrystalline silicon project in Shanxi Province, signaling Shuozhou's transition from a traditional energy hub to a manufacturing and new energy industry hub.
The Shuozhou Low-Carbon Silicon Core Industry Park focuses on developing basic materials industries such as photovoltaics, electronics, and silicon carbide. Within three years, the park plans to expand the scale of the basic materials industry and gradually introduce downstream high-end industries, aiming to become a cluster for low-carbon silicon core industries within five years.
The monocrystalline silicon project put into operation this time is Sany Group's first smart photovoltaic and green low-carbon flagship project in Shanxi, marking the group's entry into the layout of the new energy industry in Shanxi. The project has an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons of monocrystalline silicon rods and an annual output value of approximately 2.2 billion yuan. It is expected to create over 600 jobs and contribute 300 million yuan in taxes annually. The project adopts the most advanced 1600-type low-oxygen furnace in the industry and produces N-type high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon, with the photovoltaic panel's photoelectric conversion rate reaching a world-leading level.
