June 26, 2023, Shanxi, China, XCMG, in collaboration with a large local mining enterprise in Shanxi, has officially put into operation the world's first hydrogen-powered electric loader, the XC968-FCEV.
The XCMG hydrogen-powered electric loader utilizes hydrogen as its power source. Through a chemical reaction between the fuel cell system and oxygen, it generates electricity, heat, and only water as byproducts. This effectively reduces air pollution caused by conventional fuel combustion and achieves zero carbon emissions.

The XC968-FCEV was delivered to customers as early as March 2023 and has already accumulated over 1,000 hours of operation. It is primarily responsible for loading and transportation operations in coal yards for the customer.
Developed on the basis of XCMG's third-generation electric loader technology, the XC968-FCEV adopts advanced hydrogen fuel cell stacks and high-rate batteries, making it suitable for bulk material handling and transportation in mining, coal mines, steel, and other industries. It truly achieves zero emissions and zero pollution.
