July 19, 2021, Yibin, China, On July 14, 2021, CATL signed all-round and deep cooperation agreement with Yibin city to build CATL southwest headquarter, production base, industrial ecosystem, international training center and new energy industrial fund together. Senior leaders from Sichuan government and CATL attended the signing ceremony.

CALT signed phase 1 to 6 of Sichuan Times power battery project with Yibin, with total investment over ¥30 billion and an area of about 3,000 mu. Under the support of Sichuan government and related departments and the co-efforts of CATL and Yibin city, the first power battery project was put into operation on June 17, 2021.

The signing marked the deeper cooperation between CATL and Yibin city, which will promote Yibin to build world-class power battery production base and make contributions to Sichuan peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality goals.

On the site, Peng Qinghua, secretary of Sichuan committee of the CPC visited the power battery project construction and learnt about the intelligent production line operation, product R&D, innovation and application and lithium battery industrial agglomeration in the manufacturing shop and product display area.
