XCMG Cranes Operated on the Largest Wind Farm in Africa

June 13,2022

June 13, 2022, Kenya, The vast Turkana wind farm is the largest wind power project in Africa. At the beginning of February, a XCMG XCA220 from China entered the wind farm and started a four-month on-site inspection and maintenance.

XCA220 is matched with multi-mode drive technology and heavy-duty high-pressure braking system, which is more adaptable to driving conditions and has stronger slope-assisting ability for heavy-duty driving. It adopts a fully closed hydraulic system for accurate and safe lifting.

XCA220 was stationed on site for four consecutive months, and XCMG overseas service engineer Lv Hui guarded the whole process, living under the same roof and eating at the same table with the customer team. Lv Hui's professional and exclusive service gives customers full peace of mind, and the considerateness of customers also brings warmth to the XCMG worker alone in a foreign land.

Right now, 365 units wind turbines are still turning day and night, and each can provide 850 kilowatts of electricity, which can increase Kenya's electricity supply by 13%, bring lower electricity costs to the Kenyan people, and generate 310 megawatt of renewable energy for the East African country. XCA220 will continue to be stationed on site to contribute to the largest wind power project in Africa.
